Easy Basil Pesto

Great way to use all that basil parsley in your garden or at the farmer's market.

This recipe was discovered in The 28-Day Cleansing Program by Scott Ohlgren and Joann Tomasulo. I added my favorite sea vegetable, Dulse, for extra minerals and flavor. (Always sneaking those sea veggies in to support and feed the thyroid.) I adore garlic so I added 1 extra garlic clove. I used a combination of Hemp seeds and Pine nuts. The Hemp seeds gave it a creamy texture while increasing the protein. Also try adding sun-dried tomatoes! Yum!! We served this with Basic Buckwheat, sliced Cucumbers and steamed Green Beans.

4 Cups loosely packed Basil
¼ cup Parsley
1 Tablespoon Miso (excellent enzyme source)
¼ Olive Oil
1 clove Garlic
Pepper & Celtic or Pink Salt
½ cup seeds and/or nuts (sunflower, walnuts, pine, almonds, hemp seeds)
2 Tablespoons Dulse (Optional)

In a food processor blend basil, parsley, seeds/nuts, garlic, salt, and miso pulsing until finely chopped. Keep motor running and slowly add olive oil.
